From November 2005, this is my cast list:

Me – 25 and still living with my parents in the East Anglia region of England. I suffer from chronic health problems, which have and have had a profound impact on my life. I managed to complete my compulsory education and went on to do a BA Hons (Bachelors) degree at University College London. I was raised as a born-again Christian, which has also had a profound impact on my life and way of thinking. I am no longer a Christian and have since delved into Judaism and Islam. I currently indulge in writing, dabble in freelance web-design (by word of mouth) and study Interior Design with KLC. More about my interests can be found on Friendster.

Mum – My mum and I have a strange relationship! She often has to act as my carer so I depend on her a lot. It’s hard because at 25, I want to be free, but the dependency means that she is sometimes a little too involved and opinionated about my life choices. Otherwise, we get on well and tend to do activities such as: lunch, shopping and trying out tearooms! She used to be a teacher, but she is now retired and enjoys playing golf/travelling.

Father/Dad – My relationship with my father is mostly strained and at times none existent. We got on well until I got to puberty and then it was as if he didn’t know how to act as I was no longer his ‘little girl’. I am very grateful to him for putting me through school and college; he also allows me to stay in the family home free of charge. However, he has very high standards and morals, which means that I just constantly ‘let him down’. It’s very difficult to please him, especially with my health problems and so it’s come to the point where I now realise that pleasing him is very unlikely!! He also has issues with my current romantic relationship, which is made worse by the fact that I live at home still and can’t just ignore it!

Sister – My sister is 27. She recently got married and I was her bridesmaid. We didn’t used to get on too well, but now that she is settled and we are older that seems to be changing. I don’t see her as much as I would like to because she lives on the South coast, which is about a 3 and a half hour drive to our house.

BIL – My brother in law is just over 40. He is quite eccentric… being into model planes! I don’t have much in common with him, but we get on better now that he has married my sister. He recently started a new job as a commercial pilot for an executive jet company.

OH – My other half who I met online in 2004. He’s 24, of African and Middle Eastern descent, currently nearing the end of a visit to the UK. His work keeps him online a lot!! Our relationship has been fraught with one difficulty after another, but we are trying hard to stay together. It’s really hard being from two totally different countries and cultures, but we still have a lot in common.

Millie – My Yorkshire terrier. She’s 1 and a half and a bundle of trouble though she only weighs about 7 pounds. I love watching her antics as they keep me most amused and stop me from getting too depressed with my situation. I am currently trying to train her.

Cleo – My parents’ dog. They rescued her from our vets, where she had gone as a puppy because the people whose dog had given birth to her had broken her leg. She is a mixture of German shepherd/Labrador and Border collie. She is a bit ditzy, but when she is training she works quite well. I used to do obedience with her.

Pippin – Our cat. He is about 11 years old now. My mum got him for me when I was 14 as my previous cat had died of cancer and I was suffering with a bout of depression. He weighs about 14 pounds and was hand reared as he was found abandoned as a kitten.

Moppa – A smooth, white haired guinea pig, who technically belongs to me. She’s 3 years old and was rescued… no one wanted her so I said I would take her. She lives in the conservatory and is quite tame.

That’s it really. I won’t write about my friends as I don’t mention them that much!!
